Test first, then grind.
Old vinyl tile and black mastic can contain asbestos. Because we are also an abatement contractor, nothing gets ground until it has been tested, either by us or in a third-party designated substance survey (DSS), and we abate first if it needs it. Grinding is done with dust extraction, and the slab is left at the profile the next finish calls for.

Do you remove the old flooring before grinding?
Yes. We remove tile, vinyl, carpet, adhesive, mastic and thinset, then grind, so you deal with one contractor instead of two.
Can you grind a floor with black mastic on it?
Only after it is tested. Black mastic and old vinyl tile can contain asbestos, so we test it ourselves or work from the designated substance survey. If it contains asbestos, we abate first under the right controls, then grind.
Do you do polished concrete and epoxy coatings?
Yes. We grind and polish concrete, and prep and apply floor coatings.
How do you control the dust?
Grinding is done with dust extraction, and the work area is protected and cleaned before handoff.
